
Dual 6-DOF Wave Compensation Platform
This stacked dual-platform system combines vessel-motion simulation with real-time inverse compensation. The lower 6-DOF platform reproduces ship motion, while the upper platform counteracts that motion to maintain a stable working surface for offshore operations and equipment testing.
Operating Principle
- Motion acquisition and simulation: The lower platform uses attitude sensors and wave algorithms to reproduce roll up to ±30° and pitch up to ±15° under configurable sea conditions.
- Real-time inverse compensation: A high-speed data bus links both platforms with response latency below 10 ms. Attitude data is sampled up to 1,000 times per second, and the upper platform applies an equal and opposite correction.
- Adaptive stabilization: Control parameters adjust automatically as wave period and amplitude change, with overload protection for conditions outside the configured range.
